a computer of ___
a generator of soft computers: imaginary machines made of fabric, powered gently, built without urgency. it follows the structure of alison knowles and james tenney's a house of dust (1967), which builds a house one line at a time. here the houses become soft computers, each part of the machine gets its own pastel, and in "our words" you can write your own parts, which get braided in with mine. ribbon logic is its expanded version in physical form.
